Seeker helps users search for stolen items on websites selling second-hand goods and in second-hand retail stores.

How does the service work?

Users input details of their stolen item, including date, time, and location. Our technology will automatically search for a set amount of time-based on the selected package.

How does the technology work?

Seeker uses data crawlers to scrape websites and can trawl through thousands of items daily across multiple sites, looking for your stolen valuables. It searches and matches the following categories:

 

  • Item type

  • Model

  • Colour

  • Location

  • Any other details​

The technology does not need to match all details to confirm a match; we will send you possible matches that meet at least two of the categories listed.

Second-Hand Retailers​

We send details of your stolen item to second-hand retail stores matching your item type. For example, we send stolen bike reports to second-hand bike retailers and stolen watch reports to stores that sell second-hand watches.

How many second-hand retail stores do you alert?

We alert numerous second-hand retail stores relevant to the item type, ensuring maximum exposure and potential recovery.

 

Service Details
What types of items can you search for?

You can search for any valuables that might be listed for sale, excluding banned and prohibited items or firearms.

How long will the search take?

The duration of the search depends on the package you choose. We offer different timeframes to suit your needs. The tech search daily and we provide weekly updates of how many items we scraped and possible matches.

 

Which websites do you search on?

We search in the UK on the following second-hand seller websites: eBay, Preloved, Facebook Marketplace, and Gumtree. We are continually developing and expanding and will launch capabilities to search other platforms soon. We can also search non-UK websites.

 

How accurate are your searches?

Our technology is accurate and thorough. The accuracy depends on the details you provide and how closely they match the details entered by the thief. We will send you the results if there is a close match.

What if my item is found?

If we find a match, we will provide you with the details which you can forward to your insurer, law enforcement, or Found recovery agents. Proof of ownership is strongly recommended to have the best chance of recovering your item.

What if my item is not found?

While we strive to find matches, we cannot guarantee results. If your item is not found within the search timeframe, you may choose to extend the search or try again later. We offer a free Found Protect membership to anyone who uses Seeker. Click here to learn about Found Protect.
